Obama proceeds with sanctions against Iran

President Barack Obama has decided that the global oil supply is sufficient enough to proceed with sanctions against Iran.

From the AP:

The congressionally mandated sanctions target foreign financial institutions that do business with Iran’s central bank – barring them from operating in the U.S. to buy or sell Iranian oil. The penalties are to take effect at the end of June.

Obama was under a deadline to decide by Friday.

Blame Fox News! Sniveling twit Carney spins for Obama on AP scandal

That’s right. Press secretary Jay Carney whipped out the ol’ Fox News-bashing card during his press briefing today. After diminishing the lives of four murdered Americans by calling Benghazi a “political circus,” natch. Shameful and shameless: Perfect together!

Clown Carney answered (by answered, we mean spun) a question on the AP phone records scandal. By bashing Fox News.

RT @domeniconbc: Carney on why Obama doesn’t call Holder before IG investigation is released: “Imagine the story on Fox if that happened.”

— WhiteHousePressCorps (@whpresscorps) May 14, 2013

Really, Jay Carney? Using Wendell Goler’s question about Holder/AP snoop-gate to bash Fox?

— Michelle Malkin (@michellemalkin) May 14, 2013

The Right Scoop has the video:

[VIDEO] Jay Carney bashes Fox News while making excuses for Obama j.mp/1293dfX

— Right Scoop (@trscoop) May 14, 2013

Sheesh, Carney, can you at least come up with something original? How boring.

Carney trots out the Fox boogeyman. So tired and predictable.

— RB (@RBPundit) May 14, 2013

Twitter users rightly give the sniveling twit the business.

Not the best day to pick on the media, Jay. RT @theblaze: Carney: “Imagine the story on Fox” if Obama involved himself in investigation.

— Sara Johnson (@SaraFeed) May 14, 2013

“Imagine the story on Fox!?” Carney – your colors are showing!

— Justin Hart (@justin_hart) May 14, 2013

Imagine the story on FOX? WTH

— Heather (@hmfearny) May 14, 2013

Carney finds time to attack Fox News.

— Brian Faughnan (@BrianFaughnan) May 14, 2013

No, there’s nothing wrong with your TV. @presssec just proved what a douchebag he is with a gratuitous FOX slam in his AP-Gate answer….

— J P (@RileyRebel129) May 14, 2013

Fox News bashing now. This is going well.

— John Ekdahl, Jr. (@JohnEkdahl) May 14, 2013

What an ass. Blame Fox

— Greg Pollowitz (@GPollowitz) May 14, 2013

Jay Carney attacks Fox News, smirks.

— Guy Benson (@guypbenson) May 14, 2013

Carney takes a dig at Fox. What a small, small man. Apparently being buried in scandals has his spirits down.

— Jedediah Bila (@JedediahBila) May 14, 2013

Heh.  Reason why he was late?

Carney just slams Fox. They used up the Romney excuse last week.

— Elisabeth Meinecke (@lismeinecke) May 14, 2013

Jay Carney: We can’t find out what happened because Fox News.

— mitrebox (@mitrebox) May 14, 2013

Now he’s trashing Fox? Get some new talking points @presssec #smallman

— Rschrim (@Rschrim) May 14, 2013

Step 6: Invoke Demon of Liberal Fear RT @brianfaughnan: Carney finds time to attack Fox News.

— Phineas Fahrquar (@irishspy) May 14, 2013

Love it! Carney keeps saying Obama just loves the 1st Amendmt. then, takes a dig at FOX! Time to go, Jay! #Carney #Jackass

— Renee Laws (@ReneeLaws2) May 14, 2013

Carney will just say “I’m sorry about hitting you, baby, it’s just that Fox News makes me so mad!!” and the WH Press Corps will forgive him.

— Phil Smith (@psmith867) May 14, 2013

And this Twitter user sums up Clown Carney’s ludicrous performance today in a nutshell:

Shorter Carney Presser: If reports are true, unfettered Repubs altered emails with Fox News, but we can’t comment on ongoing investigation.

— Michelle Peper (@MPeper) May 14, 2013

State of denial: Jay Carney unwilling to admit that IRS targeted conservative groups

Dead and circuses: Like President Sideshow, Clown Carney calls Benghazi a ‘political circus’

#ReasonsCarneyIsLate: Why is Clown Carney late for briefing? Scrawling in his tear-stained diary?

Clown Carney: White House shocked to hear about AP’s phone records being investigated

‘That’s why he hired a Carney’: Obama shamefully calls Benghazi talking points a ‘sideshow’

Desperation: Carney ties Bush, Romney to IRS scandal and Benghazigate

Rob Lowe: Gov. Jerry Brown ‘a little late’ on fiscal responsibility

We admit it: Twitchy’s crush on Rob Lowe just keeps getting stronger. We were worried when he quoted California Gov. Jerry Brown on fiscal discipline, but we knew there had to be more — and there was.

Love the sentiment, but a little late as his new tax rates send California job creators fleeing.

— Rob Lowe (@RobLowe) January 26, 2013

@roblowe That’s what y’all voted for. That’s what ya get.

— K † (@_TexasRebel) January 26, 2013

@roblowe what a political metamorphosis from ’84. I don’t fully agree w/this sentiment but we need more intelligence in our discourse.

@roblowe Not you, too, with the ‘job creators’ lingo. I have yet to see any evidence that tax rates discourage long-term job growth.

‘Affordable my butt’! POTUS suggests cutting back on cable, cell service could help you pay Obamacare [video]

That’s basically the gist of President Obama’s recent suggestion.

Last week, he participated in a town hall event geared toward the Hispanic community. One of the questions for him came from a man with a $36,000 annual income, who feels that his minimum monthly premium under Obamacare is too much for him. After offering Medicaid as a possible solution — and blaming states like Texas and Florida for not properly expanding Medicaid — President Obama suggested that people struggling to afford their monthly health insurance premiums just “haven’t prioritized health care,” and they might want to cut back on their cable and cell phone service.

Yeah, we’re guessing it would not go over terribly well.

Some people kind of understood where the president was coming from:

He shouldn’t’ve made plans at all. The government has no business getting involved in our health care. And while his point about sound budgeting is a good one, is he, President Big Spender, really in a position to tell people how to allocate their money?

Definitely not. And many rightly bristled at his remarks:

Obama solution for healthcare: Cancel your cable.

Obama solution for energy independence: Inflate your tires.

Please stop. I'm begging.—   (@ConservativeLA) March 12, 2014

Obama 2010: If you like your plan you can keep it.

Obama 2014: Do you really need your cable and cell phone?

#AffordableMyButt— Noah Wehrman (@NoahWehrman) March 12, 2014

Coming soon:

"Look, Billy! We got you Obamacare for Christmas. We couldn't afford anything else."

"Worst. Christmas. Ever."— Matthew (@Matthops82) March 12, 2014

It does suck, but at least there’s a silver lining:

Teens Shattered This Man’s Skull. But They Couldn’t Shatter His Beautiful Heart.

Ray Widstrand, of Minneapolis, experienced something absolutely horrifying. He was walking past a group of inner city youths involved in a street fight when they suddenly attacked him. He was beaten within an inch of his life and robbed.

Even though he’ll never be the same, he recently spoke out while recovering. His words aren’t filled with anger and revenge… they’re filled with hope and forgiveness.

Ray nearly died at the hands of hooligan teenagers for no reason.

His skull was smashed in and he suffered permanent brain damage. He wouldn’t be able to use the restroom alone again.

But even though the teens beat him nearly to death without reason, he forgives them. He actually forgives them and wishes them peace.

“I’m indifferent towards them. I wish them the best. But I am recovering and I’ll be back soon enough, hopefully I can go back to work, back to my normal life, back to living on my own and back to business as usual.”

Ray knows he has people praying for him. His family was shocked and disgusted by the violence, but he would not let them seek vengeance.

When police finally found Ray, he was lying on the ground, bleeding from his nose and mouth, his pants removed and shirt torn. His head was kicked in and the teens obviously searched through his belongings.

Ray was left to die. He suffered potentially fatal brain swelling and “permanent and protracted loss of brain function” as a result of the senseless beating. But that doesn’t mean he wants the 19 year-old and four juveniles responsible for his suffering to die.

His strength and courage is an inspiration. Share his incredible story with your friends. We truly can overcome anything.

Democrats using women: Senator Reid spreads more lies

Senator Reid (D-Nev.) took to Twitter to spew nonsense about the “war on women.”

Typical lies. By the way, silly Harry, since you are so For The Women-y, don’t you read EMILY’s List? They admit that no one is trying to ban birth control or the “access” to it. You know what does harm a woman’s health? Obamacare.

@SenatorReid and Obamacare denies the right to preventative mammograms for those under 50 and won't pay 4 life saving Breast CA meds#explain

— Volfan326 (@Volfan326) May 24, 2012

The lies continue.

I hope Republicans join Democrats soon to send a clear message that America values the incredible contributions women make every day

— Senator Harry Reid (@SenatorReid) May 24, 2012

Why don’t the Democrats join Republicans in praising women and defending them from horribly misogynist attacks, instead of saying they had it coming? No? They’d rather use women as pawns and attempt to scare them from fleeing the Democrat plantation. What about valuing the incredible contributions of mothers instead of constantly slamming them? That doesn’t suit; it doesn’t help push a false narrative in order to further an agenda.

Among add'l bills the Senate will address soon is the Paycheck Fairness Act. Women earn 77 cents on the $ compared to males #EqualPay

— Senator Harry Reid (@SenatorReid) May 24, 2012

Sigh. The good, old wage gap myth, which has been dispelled over and over.

The Labor Department’s conclusion was that the gender pay gap was the result of a multitude of factors and that the “raw wage gap should not be used as the basis for [legislative] correction. Indeed, there may be nothing to correct. The differences in raw wages may be almost entirely the result of individual choices being made by both male and female workers.”

What? Individual choice? That’s unheard of. Well, unless the choice is killing an unborn child, natch. Time Magazine is now even admitting the gender wage gap against women is unfounded. And, in fact, that women are presently out-earning men. According to Time, we should think this is super awesome. They even titled the article “At Last, Women On Top“.  (I think that’s supposed to be titillating and edgy.)

Of course, there is one place where the wage gap does exist; in Democrat offices.

Twitter responds with some sanity.

Hey douche @SenatorReid: If you pay your female staffers less than your male staffers, who's really waging a #waronwomen? #twisters #tcot

— Snarky Basterd (@Snarky_Basterd) May 24, 2012

Citizens are better Romney spokespeople than Andrea Saul

As Twitchy reported last night, Romney spokesperson Andrea Saul pulled a major facepalm. She invoked Romneycare when debunking the Obama SuperPAC repugnant ad that grossly, and fallaciously, tried to link Mitt Romney to a woman’s death from cancer.

Andrea Saul's Romneycare response is inexplicable to me. If those are her instincts, Romney better find someone with better ones. And fast.

— Jedediah Bila (@JedediahBila) August 9, 2012

Hint, Andrea Saul: Romney care is not a plus; it’s a detriment. Further, it completely misses the point! Thankfully, citizens “get it” and can frame the argument far better than the so-called professionals can. That’s what happens when people live in the real world and not Beltway Ivory towers.
