Michael Reagan: ‘Let the sequester happen’

In the PR battle over automatic spending cuts, longer lines at TSA checkpoints have emerged as one of the effects of the sequester that the public at large is most likely to feel right away. President Ronald Reagan’s son Michael doesn’t want that threat to stand in the way of the cuts taking place; in fact, he’s been cheering on the sequester for days.

Sequester Happens….its the new S word!

Walmart employees threaten Black Friday walkout

With today’s news that the showdown between the Bakery, Confectionery, Tobacco Workers and Grain Millers International Union and Hostess will lead to a liquidation of the company, many are anxiously wondering which business might be the next domino to fall. Could it be Walmart?

Striking in bad economy meant 18K Hostess workers are now jobless so Walmart crews vow to hold their own strike? Insanity. #tcot

— B. Christopher Agee (@BCAgee) November 16, 2012

Probably not. But rumors of a Black Friday strike by employees of the world’s largest retailer are centering around locations in and around Chicago, Miami, Milwaukee and Washington, D.C. Unemployment was a cornerstone of both presidential campaigns, but it seems there are fates worse than having no job, and one of those is working for Walmart.

So some Walmart employees are planning a strike on Black Friday? GOOD! Long over due. They treat their employees like animals & SLAVES.

— EJ (@Ejayjones3) November 16, 2012

Walmart – if effect, they are modern day slave owners.

— Mary(@SRQ2U) November 16, 2012

Walmart is preparing for the possibility. According to Reuters, the retailer has filed an unfair labor practice charge against the United Food and Commercial Workers International Union that would preclude picket lines at stores.

Wal-Mart files unfair U.S. labor practice charge over protests

— Reuters Top News (@Reuters) November 16, 2012

Activities over the past year or longer “have caused disruptions to Walmart’s business, resulted in misinformation being shared publicly about our company, and created an uncomfortable environment and undue stress on Walmart’s customers, including families with children,” Walmart outside counsel Steven Wheeless said in a letter sent on Friday to Deborah Gaydos, assistant general counsel of the UFCW.

The usual suspects are lining up to lend their support, including other national unions, Occupy Wall Street and progressive groups.

Perhaps it’s the shock of the Hostess liquidation settling in, or simply a matter of timing, as millions find themselves entering yet another holiday season without employment. While some were hoping to snatch up bargains on Black Friday, others think a strike might lead to some job openings.

A day later, Chris Hayes admits ‘dead body’ in Ferguson wasn’t really dead

Yes, he finally followed-up. As Twitchy reported, MSNBC’s Chris Hayes posted an inflammatory tweet with no context Sunday night. He claimed to have seen what “appears to be a dead body” on a street in Ferguson.

Now, more than half a day later after the misinformation was spread and retweeted over 4,500 times, he had this to say:

It would be unbelievable if it wasn’t already clear that Mr. Hayes is an atrocity.

Twitter users rightly gave him the business.

Hayes isn’t done, though.

We don’t. You are a beyond a joke, Mr. Hayes. You are a disgrace.

Inflammatory! Could mace boy Chris Hayes have made a more irresponsible Ferguson tweet than THIS?

And This Is Exactly Why You Never Judge Someone By Their Looks. Whoa…

Bikers strike fear into the hearts of many. They’re seen as rough thugs… but there is more to a biker than you think. This gang, for instance, is happy to intimidate people. However, they only intimidate people who dare hurt children. They are the Bikers Against Child Abuse International. And they mean business.

These bikers stand out because of their soft spot: innocent victims of child abuse.

You may be taken aback by their kind and generous attitude, but there are more to bikers than just leather and chains. These bikers act as guardians for abused children.

The girl in purple was abused by a relative, according to police reports – someone she should have been able to trust. He’s not in the state any longer, but the criminal case is progressing slowly, so he’s not in jail, either. She still lives in fear, but this unruly-looking mob in her driveway is there to help her feel safe again. They are members of the Arizona chapter of Bikers Against Child Abuse International, and they wear their motto on their black leather vests and T-shirts: “No child deserves to live in fear.”

A biker’s power and attitude can help a vulnerable child feel safe… and BE safe. If this little girl has to testify against her abuser in court, they will go, too, walking with her to the witness stand and taking over the first row of seats. Pipes will tell her, “Look at us, not him.” And when she’s done, they will circle her again and walk her out.

The bikers even welcomed this little girl into their gang, making her a denim jacket with the name “Rhythm” on it, for a girl who dances and loves music.

The bikers are all volunteers, giving five, 10, 20 or more hours a week. There’s no reimbursement for gas or the time they take off work.

The bikers must be tough, not only to protect the kids but to be able to stomach knowing what their young charges may have been through. An 8-year-old beaten by Mom; a 6-year-old molested by his mother’s boyfriend. A girl, 10, raped. They are trained by a licensed mental-health professional affiliated with the chapter. Each biker must be fingerprinted and undergo a thorough criminal-background check, the same one required for state child-welfare workers and law-enforcement officers, before they can join the group.

These bikers aren’t looking for trouble. The only thing they want to do is make sure innocent children don’t feel so alone, or so powerless.

“It’s scary enough for an adult to go to court,” he says. “We’re not going to let one of our little wounded kids go alone.”

Share what these awesome bikers are doing with others.

Adam Levine is disgruntled by New York City’s smell of ‘melty garbage’

It’s the most populous city in the United States. It is constant movement, traffic, hustle and bustle and big business wherever you go. It’s “the city that never sleeps.”

That might explain why it smells so darn bad.

When Maroon 5’s lead singer Adam Levine explored New York City, the first thing he noticed was the blistering heat. The second was the awful smell.

While you might consider melty garbage to be an unusual smell to become accustomed with, many who responded to Levine made it clear it was just another day in NYC.

The rebuttals were few and far between, but passionate nonetheless.

Who wouldn’t miss the smell of melty garbage?

Goodbye, Colorado: Magpul Industries moving operations to Wyoming and Texas

Last February, gun accessory manufacturer Magpul Industries announced it would leave Colorado if Democrats pushed through a ban on magazines that hold more than 15 rounds. In March, Gov. John Hickenlooper signed a bill establishing a 15-round limit on ammunition magazines and, as promised, Magpul has announced that it is pulling up stakes in Colorado for more gun-friendly environments.

Magpul made the announcement on its website Thursday.

The company is relocating manufacturing, distribution and shipping operations to Cheyenne, Wyoming. Magpul is leasing a 58,000 square foot manufacturing and distribution facility during the construction of a 100,000 square foot build-to-suit facility in the Cheyenne Business Parkway. The Wyoming relocation is being completed with support from Governor Matt Mead, the Wyoming Business Council and Cheyenne LEADS.

Magpul is moving its corporate headquarters to Texas. Three North Central Texas sites are under final consideration, and the transition to the Texas headquarters will begin as soon as the facility is selected. The Texas relocation is being accomplished with support from Governor Rick Perry and the Texas Economic Development Corporation.

Magpul says it plans to transition 92 percent of its workforce out of Colorado within 12 to 16 months.

In a statement, Wyoming Gov. Matt Mead said, “Wyoming and Magpul are a great match. The state is looking to expand and diversify its economy. Bringing an innovative and growing manufacturing operation to Wyoming is a significant step for the state. We offer Magpul an attractive tax environment, stable and reasonable regulations, not to mention a firm commitment to uphold the Second Amendment.”

Last September, Second Amendment advocates led a successful drive to recall Colorado state Sen. president John Morse in Colorado Springs and Democrat state Sen. Angela Giron in Pueblo. State Sen. Evie Hudak resigned her seat in November in the face of a similar recall effort.

Sarah Palin vindicated: When media get it wrong, ‘they really get it wrong’

Sarah Palin appeared on Fox News’ “Cashin’ In” Saturday afternoon to talk Obamacare and death panels, and she backed up her appearance with a Facebook post calling out the mainstream media for getting health care rationing really wrong.

Please see the article linked below. To the “defenders of the truth” in the lamestream media, I’m not sayin’, “just sayin’.”

To our steadfast supporters, let’s always keep our eye on the truth and never back down from ensuring our great country isn’t deceived by what we are told to think by the media or the powers that be. When they get it wrong, they really get it wrong.

We will never sit down and we will never shut up. It isn’t in our DNA and it isn’t what our country was founded upon. The need to question government and address its flaws is incumbent on all people of conscience, and we will never stop defending true and plainspoken facts. There is much more to come, hold tight and keep your resolve.

The linked article in Investors Business Daily notes how Howard Dean and other Democrats are beginning to distance themselves from Obamacare’s Independent Payment Advisory Board, which Dean called “essentially a health-care rationing body” that will frustrate patients and fail to control costs. It also notes how Palin was ridiculed for saying, “We can’t party like it’s 1773,” referring of course to the Boston Tea Party of … 1773.

Twitter reacts to Peyton officially signing with Denver

Peyton Manning is officially a member of the Denver Broncos after signing a five-year, $96 million contract on Tuesday.

Manning and John Elway took the podium in-front of the media to publicly announce the deal.

From ESPN:

The Denver Broncos introduced Manning as their new starting quarterback at a news conference Tuesday afternoon. Manning earlier reached agreement on a five-year, $96 million contract on Tuesday, a league source told ESPN NFL Insider Adam Schefter.

“I’m very excited to begin the next chapter of my playing career with the Denver Broncos,” Manning said.

He will wear the No. 18, which had been retired by the team, for the Broncos.

A source told ESPN business analyst Andrew Brandt that Manning will be paid $18 million in 2012.

He will be paid $20 million in both the 2013 and ’14 seasons if he passes a team physical to be given 10 days before the start of the 2013 league year. There is an injury waiver included in the contract, however, covering Manning’s surgically repaired neck. If he re-injures the neck during the 2013 season, the Broncos will not have to pay his 2014 salary.

He is scheduled to make $19 million in both ’15 and ’16, but must pass a physical before each league year.

Peyton Manning STRONGLY believes that a number that is retired should stay retired… Unless he wants it. In that case, screw it.

Exxon propagandizes for Common Core during Masters

Exxon employs thousands of engineers and geologists. Naturally, it is concerned about the quality of the U.S. educational system.

Like many large corporations, Exxon believes the Obama-Jeb Bush -Bill Gates-backed Common Core scheme will improve education. Reality check: This top-down federalization of academic standards and testing will do just the opposite not only for math education, but across the pedagogical board.

Today, Exxon aired pro-Common Core ads during the Masters golf tournament.

Informed parents, activists, and educators gave the edu-propaganda a big, fat “F.”
